Really great authentic little accommodation in Canngu. The hotel is over 20 years old but has been maintained very well and has a very authentic and charming vibe. Canngu has changed a lot over the years and the music from the venue next door can be loud on the weekend nights (until 2 or 3am) but they provide ear plugs. It's nice to see that a hotel adapts to the changes around them. Breakfast options are good too Western and Balinese options available. Private pool in the room was great and their is also plenty of green around. Really enjoyed our stay at Tugu Bali and will always remember when we look at the little keepsakes the staff gave us as we checked out. The hotel is unique in it's own right and if your looking for tranquility, a great location and SUPER friendly staff then Tugu is the place to be.

The Tugu hotels are institutions of culture and comfort. The antiquities displayed are very special. The rooms have souls, or at least their very special atmosphere, perfectly arranged and thoughtfully prepared for the visitors. It is an experience in itself to stay here, no need to go out to the nice, but noisy beach. You can spend a whole day just looking at the objects displayed, mostly Peranakan (or Strait Chinese) artifacts, but also some Javanese, Balinese and colonial historical objects. There is a bookshelf with the best available albums on Bali and Asian arts. The Ji restaurant was great. I loved our stay here, thank you, Tugu.

Probably the most interesting hotel I’ve been to, in terms of its architecture, design and decor. The hotel staff were the most professional and nicest I’ve encounter in my several weeks travel in Bali and Indonesia. The room had almost everything you need (amazing bathtub!), and we could have easily stayed longer if we could. The traditional show each Thursday evening shouldn’t be missed. There are also Yoga classes, a tour around and Spa which we didn’t have the chance to try but looked good.

Staff were amazing and so friendly, service was surpreme. The breakfast was fantastic and the free afternoon with treats was a delight, either served in room or by the pool. Great location, very close to the beach and many restuarants. Was sad to leave and would happily stay again.

The hotel is sublime. Our room was exceptional, vast with its own pool. The bathroom was out of this world- a thatched awning surrounded by a moat of goldfish. A large, tiled, sunken bath with cascading shower above. We were treated like royalty and didn’t want to leave.
